Here's a very old polaroid I just stumbled upon of a tiny happy Mabel playing with her sock. When I went back to work in February of 2011, Bill took a chunk of paternity leave he'd been saving up and stayed home with the baby for a while (he went back to work for finish the school year--but this time was such a success that he ended up quitting his job and staying home with her the next two years, which was fabulous for everyone). He and Mabel would come down to my office about once a week and have lunch with me in a nearby park or pizza place. It was one of the highlights of my week.
