This morning I bundled almost-six-and-a-half-year-old Mabel into her warm winter coat for a blustery day of first grade. Six years ago in December we bundled not-quite-half-a-year-old Mabel into a cozy dress and cardigan and leg warmers, most likely for a busy day of rolling around on the rug. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
