Keeping On Keeping On

I am reading Alan Bennett's third volume of diaries Keeping On Keeping On and it is delightful and comforting. A perfect example of the nothing-at-all-happens-and-that-is-completely-wonderful genre of books which I adore and which tend to be hard to find, crossing, as they do, between diaries, fiction, memoir, nature writing, essays, and much else. But when you've found one, you don't let it go. Especially when the voice is as smart and wry and acerbic and cozy as Bennett's.
