This morning
I noticed this paint on the sidewalk
down in front of these shop windows
not just one or two colors
like someone had dribbled a bit
while doing some sign-painting
No a whole bunch of colors
red blue yellow
orange or green
pretty inexplicable
It reminded me of the time in highschool
we splatter-painted big canvas tarps in the driveway
that would later be hung up and serve as sets for a play
And the concrete had splashes of pink and blue on it
for years afterwards
maybe it still does
