Current Favorite Picture Books

We've been reading to Mabel, of course, since the day she came home from the hospital. But in the last month or so her capacity to sit and listen to a picture book in it's entirety--to follow the story, examine the illustrations, laugh at the jokes, and anticipate the arrival of her favorite parts--has suddenly increased exponentially. And she now does that classic toddler things where she has choosen favorites, and brings us certain books to read again, and again, and again. So, today, a little round up of the top five volumes in heavy (heavy) rotation at our house at the moment. We're really lucky: the child has good taste--we admire and enjoy all these books very much as well.

Above, my personal favorite, 13 Words by Lemony Snicket and Maira Kalman.

Little Pea by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Jen Corace

Girls' Potty Time by Dawn Sirett

What's Wrong Little Pookie by Sandra Boynton

Me Baby You Baby by Ashley Wolff
