We've been taking Mabel to parent/baby swim classes since she was seven months old. I wouldn't so much say that in that two year period she's been learning to swim, so much as she's been learning to feel comfortable and confident and happy in the water. Not long ago her teacher (who we think may just possibly be the first crush of her young life) suggested we get her some goggles. Up until now she has had zero interest in wearing anything on her face (witness the debacle of the baby sunglasses), but if the swim instructor is the one suggesting it she is delighted to give it a try. She also clearly likes how easy it is for her to crack up her parents while wearing them.
