Paris Day 3

Now that we were all moved in to our apartment and mostly recovered from jet lag, our days got a bit more ambitious. In the morning of this particular day we took a boat ride on the Seine, getting off for a bit in the Grand Palais/Petit Palais/Pont Alexandre III/Champs Elysees neck of the woods for a stroll and some orange juice, where we happened upon an antique car show and a sign advertising a museum exhibition featuring the familiar logo of SFMOMA. After that it was home for a rest and then out for a walk all around the Isle de La Cite, checking out its various parks and the exterior of Notre Dame (the interior would wait for another day). While in line to go into the Sainte Chapelle Mabel sacked out on her Daddy's shoulder--something she hasn't done for at least a couple of years and a sign, perhaps, that we were not quite as fully shed of jet lag as we'd previously thought--but she awoke bright-eyed and bushy-tailed just in time to ooh and ah over the splendors of the stained glass inside. Then home through the astonishingly lush flower and plant market in the late afternoon sun, stopping to buy flowers and cherries for the apartment and, of course, ice cream cones from Berthillon.
